Heart Habits
Editorial Standards
Our readers trust us with their health, their families’ dinners and their money. These are the standards our writers and editors follow.
Accuracy
- Every article is reviewed by an editor before it’s published.
- Health and fitness claims are supported by reputable sources, such as peer-reviewed research, major medical organizations and qualified experts, and we link to them.
- We don’t present a single small study as settled science, and we say so when evidence is limited or mixed.
- We never invent quotes, testimonials, credentials or endorsements.
Health information
Our wellness and fitness content is for general information. It isn’t medical advice and doesn’t replace a conversation with your doctor. We don’t tell readers to stop or change prescribed treatment, and we’re especially careful with topics like supplements, weight loss, pregnancy and mental health.
Recipes
Recipes are tested before they’re published. Times, temperatures and yields reflect what we saw in a home kitchen.
Recommendations and affiliate links
Editors choose products independently. Affiliate relationships never determine whether a product is recommended or what we say about it. See how we make money.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and, for significant errors, note the correction in the article.
Images
We use photos we’ve taken, licensed or have permission to use, and we credit photographers.
